Someone once said, “You’re the main character of your life’s story. Give your audience something to not only look forward to, but also something to be inspired by”. When I see what ALF is doing, this quote comes back to me. This organization not only creates opportunities but it also inspires people to create their own opportunities to change their lives. By being part of ALF, I have learned to love our country, culture, and especially our people.
One of the many experiences I have enjoyed the most is being able to explain the path to homeownership to the applicants. I have met people who have shared their different experiences sincerely and show their joy by hearing that someone wants to help them improve their lives’ quality, not only financially, but to also find a place where their lives can take the same path to help their neighbors.
Abundant Life has already opened a path for the people of Roatán to see beyond borders. While others see the problem and ignore it, ALF teaches us to be more of a human with the people and do something to improve our country. It makes me thrilled to see the impact of the foundation throughout the island, and hopefully throughout the whole country. Changing the world is a challenge, but if we continue creating opportunities for the people, we are certainly changing someone else’s world.
